Using Tile and Grout Cleaning Tools

Your bathroom is the one room in your home that is used virtually every single day by all members of the family. And yet it is the one room we want to have the least lived-in look. After all, what we do in the bathroom isnt exactly pleasant! Cleaning the bathroom does not become a difficult chore until you confront its tile and grout. This is where you need to show some muscle with your cleaning. The removal of built up soap scum and moldy growth may seem like a daunting task, but it isnt if you are armed with the right tile and grout cleaning tools.

Cleaners Specifically for Tile and Grout

What with all the humidity generated by hot showers and baths, it is no wonder bathrooms become a breeding ground for potentially harmful bacteria, mold, and mildew. Dont think for a second that any old cleaner you have stashed away in your cabinet will be able to tackle this kind of job. You need a cleaner designed especially for tile and grout. These cleaners are first and foremost non-abrasive (FULLER Tile and Grout Cleaner), so they will not scratch expensive tile or ravage porous grout. Spray the cleaner on and let it rest there for the recommended amount of time indicated in the instructions. Wipe off with a damp sponge or cloth and remember to rinse thoroughly with hot water. Then, all that is left if for you to allow it to air dry.

Other Necessary Tools

For narrow spaces where a sponge simply wont fit, such as the shower track and the grout around your tiles, the results of your hard work will be greatly increased if you use a scrub brush created solely for these two areas (FULLER Shower Track and Grout Brush). These brushes are guaranteed not to scratch either type of surface. First, scrub back and forth along the shower track and along the grout without any cleaner. This will loosen the dirt and grime. Then, apply the cleaner. Again, be sure to let it rest for a time. Scrub with the brush once more, then rinse with hot water and allow to air dry. Follow up with a disinfectant spray to prevent mold and mildew from growing back.

If soap scum is allowed to build up on tile for too long, even the best cleaner alone will not be able to wash it away. In cases like this, you will need the help of a strong scrub brush for large spaces. Best to choose one with a telescopic handle (FULLER Tub and Shower E-Z Scrubber) so you will not have to stand and risk slipping off the edge of the tub. Some of these brushes are also created to effectively help remove calcium carbonate deposits left by hard water.

To maintain general household cleanliness and health, start by cleaning your bathroom. This is the one room, apart from the kitchen, most likely to harbor potentially harmful bacteria, mold, and mildew. Take this household cleaning advice; you will always have the upper hand with your bathrooms tile and grout.
