Moms are a primary target for work at home business schemes. Go to any web site that is about moms or mothers and you will find tons of ads for a home business for moms.

Why are they targeted? Because many women want to work from home and have their own homebased business for moms. They want to make money while they stay at home with their kids. They are tired of spending most of the day on the road or in their office and too tired to enjoy their family when they go home at night. Many women still believe (and I am one of them) that working moms can have their cake and eat it, too.

If you are a mom in this situation, you can have your cake and eat it, too. You can join many moms working at home and start a viable internet business without becoming a victim of the scam artists.

The answer is to build your own web site. There are many ways to make money with your own web site. But first, you have to start with what you know.

What do you know about? Are you an expert on a particular subject? Do you have a hobby that you can help others develop?

People go on the internet to find information. Whether it's weight loss, money management, vacation planning, organizing a home, scrapbooking, health problems, or anything else that you can think of, people go to the internet to get answers to their questions.

Once you do a search about the subject you are interested in, what usually pops up in the search engine of your choice? A list of sites that are focused on this subject. Many of the sites listed are trying to sell you something that relates to that subject, right? But if you click on an "ad site", you just keep going back to your search results until you find answers to your questions, not just ads. Bingo!

Once you find that site, you look for the information you need and sometimes you put that site on your favorites and you go back to it again and again. That's the kind of site you want to build...a web site with good information or content that people will come back to again and again.

So how do you make money with a web site like that? Many times the web site will have ads that you click on about your subject or they have links that you go to and there's information offered that you are willing to buy. Everytime someone clicks on a link or ad like that, the web site makes money.

You might know so much about your subject that you are able to write your own ebook, an electronic book about your subject that people are willing to buy. You might have a product that is related to your subject matter that you can sell on your site. Sometimes another web site has a quality product that you can link to and everytime you send someone to that site and they make a purchase, you will receive a commission from that referral. Those are called affiliate programs.

Having a web site that makes money requires a knowledge about something and a willingness to work hard. Everyone, including moms, knows something about something. You can make money on the internet with what you know!
