Writing: Composing Literature Tips

The term 'good writer' can not be defined accurately and firmly. There are different interpretations of this term but the general meaning is based on author's recognition and success. The popularity and recognition of the author's talent is evaluated by social interest to his books which is expressed in a number of sales. But the history has proved that best-sellers usually follow the author's death. It can be explained by the innovations in techniques and ideas introduced by talented writers. Psychological researches show that human nature is very resistant to accept something new because of fear for non-understandable and strange things.

The basic knowledge of some literary fundamental aspects is useful and exciting instrument to analyze all existing achievements and therefore to see the new possibilities of changes, additions or innovations. It also helps find the ways of how to execute your new ideas. The literature study fundamental aspects include external (based on technical, historical, cultural and even political researches) methods and internal (based on psychological and emotional understanding of individual) methods. External methods allow to use techniques and to develop skills to compose works. Internal methods help the researcher to develop himself as a bright individual and they give him the possibility to make valuable contribution in literature world.

While all external revelations are closely connected with each other internal aspects are more complicated and, therefore difficult to study and understand.
The focus on the internal aspects study calls personal development and develops high skills for perfect composing and audience's recognition.
The human nature is considered to be so individual that people very often can not understand each other. So engagement of simple, direct word combinations can cause different interpretations of each individual. In such cases an author has to assume that he is not successful in representing his ideas and he is not able to 'achieve' the audience. Symbols are the very perfect way to find the right direction and catch the idea but sometimes they can be difficult to understand because they remain their meaning outside themselves. Symbols can be divided into common used and individual.

Common used symbols are widely engaged in poetry and prose: they are metaphors, epithets, allegories, metonymies, similes, grotesques etc. Individual symbols are referred to the words and word combinations that can not be classified and sometimes even understood because they have never been used before.

The study of previous literary works is based on history, author's biography, his inner world, environment, origin and his critics. The first step is to study author's biography in order to understand the historical events which inevitably influenced his works. For example, Shakespeare's 'Hamlet' was inspired by historical and political events occurred in Britain at that time. Next step is to study the author's motives and initial ideas of writing. This includes the variety of studies including psychology, sociology, ethnology etc. After that the techniques used in literary works are worth studying.

Such combination of scientific and technique studies helps to gain the basic knowledge, find new possibilities and develop writing skills. The last step is to collect all relevant critical works and views and provide a deep analysis in order to get your own assessment. The combined research of both belles-lettres and its critics brings necessary basis for good composing skills. It creates new ways for further development of natural abilities and helps in search of your own individual way in the literature world.
