The Single Word That Can Lead To An Anxiety Cure

There is a word that could lead any anxiety sufferer to a permanent and timely anxiety cure.

And what word is that?

"Amygdala".

This word could be the key that can assists a person to a permanent recovery from anxiety disorder and all related problems such as panic, PTSD, OCD and phobias.

At this point you're probably wondering: "Well what on earth is the amygdala?"

Psychology Today referred to it in a 2002 article titled: "Where fear lives". It is the seat of emotion and the part of the brain that governs our fear reactions. It could also be called "The seat of fear".

The amygdala is suggested to be hyperactive in those who suffer from anxiety disorders like GAD, OCD, Panic, PTSD and Agoraphobia.

Hyperactivity of the amygdala is thought to cause the uncontrolled fear, runaway thoughts and physical symptoms associated with those illnesses.

Fine, you might say, but what does that have to do with a permanent anxiety cure?

To answer the question, we'll very briefly go into some research carried out by the NIMH in 2002 and summarised in the following paragraph:

"Researchers funded by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) have discovered a high tech way to quell panic in rats. They have detected the brain's equivalent of an "all clear" signal, that, when simulated, turns off fear. The discovery could lead to non-drug, physiological treatments for runaway fear responses seen in anxiety disorders." Page: http://www.nih.gov/news/pr/nov2002/nimh-06.htm

That article gives a step-by-step explanation of how panic was stopped in rats, almost immediately, by calming the amygdala.

The steps were this:

a) They worked with rats and were monitoring their brains,
b) They placed the rats in a situation that caused them fear - and this caused the rats to show anxiety,
c) They then used a method to send "safety signals" to the amygdala,
d) The rats stopped being afraid.
e) And this lack of fearfulness was PERMANENT.

2 key things that you need to consider are that:

a) The amygdala causes anxiety
b) When the amygdala is turned off, the anxiety will stop.

Calm your amygdala and you stop your anxiety for good.

It's that simple.
